Simply the most useful device I have ever owned. I was a little miffed that Apple did not offer a true 8GB 3rd generation model. In the end, however, I am glad I bought the upgraded 32GB 3rd generation model. The amount of use I get from this device more than justifies the cost. I've always viewed the iPod Touch as a premium MP3 player. However, over time people convinced me that the iPod Touch is so much more.
Music is only one of the many reasons that I finally decided to get an iPod Touch.
My primary motivator is that we have a family business that depends heavily on calendar scheduling. I had become accustomed to using Google Calendar to keep track of appointments as much as six months out and had a basic system going where I would be emailed/texted one day before and one hour before each appointment. Now that I have an iPod Touch I can sync my calendar and no longer need to set alerts or call for clarification on truncated information.
I also have the opportunity a few times a day to access free wifi so I can check emails and get weather updates.
It's nice to have all of my music, pictures, appointments, emails, and so much more in one place. In the past, even though I have a cell phone, I still carried a calculator, GPS, printed agenda from Google Calendar, picture keychain, a 12" notebook computer, and an MP3 player. This is slowly replacing each of those items and doing a better job than my previous choices.
I hope to see municipal Wifi come at an affordable price in the near future so I can dump the GPS and rely solely on my iPod Touch. If Apple decides to add in a decent point and shoot camera (I've heard rumors!) then this will truly become irreplaceable.
Even if you're not an audiophile, you might just find enough apps to make the iPod Touch your first choice ultra portable organizer/computer/media player/ebook reader/gps/portable game player to justify the cost. I haven't had a lot of time yet to delve into the thousands of apps available, but according to some people I talked to, many apps are free to try and cheap to buy. Thinking back, I probably spent over $200 on a Sony Clie organizer not too many years ago, and this is light years ahead of good organziers - a truly outstanding product.
The only reason I opted for the 8 gb version of this is because I hope to get one with a camera next year and couldn't justify the increased cost when I don't plan to keep this one forever.Get more detail about Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL.

I really like this thing, upgrading from a video classic I was wary that the touch would be more than I really wanted, however after a couple weeks of use I can say that I've been nothing but pleased with it.Get more detail about Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL.

iPod is always awesome, Amazon is always a good place for shopping. The only unsatisfactory is that the free shipping is delivered by the USPS, I waited my iTouch for almost half an month and the service of USPS is pretty bad.Get more detail about Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL.

Before I purchase something from Amazon I read the reviews first and foremost! After reviewing the write-ups provided by the customers before me I decided to go ahead and get the iPod Touch 32 gb (3rd Gen) because there were a lot more positive reviews than non-positive. I figure that if there are one or two negative reviews compared to the many positive reviews then it's probably user error causing the low review...as in this case.
One purchaser submitted a review complaining about when the iPod is first started up it prompts you to hook up to a computer which'll automatically take you to Apples iTunes store. So what! What happens is you're required to set up a FREE account where the iPod is then sync'd to iTunes software which then allows the device to be used (therefore, if you don't have a PC or Mac you might be out of luck...I'm not sure though). Sure, this could be a ploy for you to purchase iTunes (at .99 a song...in most cases) but you don't have to. I uploaded a CD I already owned to my account and then downloaded it to my iPod at no cost to me, ON THE FIRST DAY I OWNED THE iPod TOO! By the way, when I downloaded the Apple software to my computer it fixed a problem I had been having with my PC that even Microsoft couldn't repair (Sheesh!). I've since made one music purchase from iTunes for .99 and am completely satisfied at the quality of download. Take note though, uploaded CD's need to have the volume increased quite a bit but it's easy to do through the options menue in the iTunes menue on the computer before you sync to download the CD music.
It took me several days to get hooked up to my secured wireless internet but that was because I forgot the password and once I finally remembered it I was amazed at how fast I can breeze through my preloaded and (free) downloaded apps. I haven't tried to hook-up to my truck's stereo system through Bluetooth yet but that's coming today. If I remember or think it's important I'll update this review.
I've hooked up the iPod to my Samsung HT-BD3252 home theater system and everything works as advertised even though the iPod 3rd Gen isn't listed as compatible (the 2nd Gen is though). I can even wirelessly control the iPod with my Logitech Harmony One remote controller. Don't you just love gadgets?
The only nit I have with the iPod Touch is the earbuds. I can't seem to get the hang of them. Once they're 'implanted' in my ear canal they sound just fine but they keep falling out. Today I just purchased the Skullcandy Full Metal Jacket earbuds for out & about listening and the Sennheiser RX 100 over the ear headphones for in the house listening. Earbuds, to me, become uncomfortable after about an hour therefore that explains the over the ear headphones...besides, I can afford both ;) Oh, I bought these after reading the reviews first as always.
I hope this helps anyone out there and I highly recommed the iPod Touch 32 gb 3rd Gen to anyone. Thanks.Get more detail about Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL.
